What are Child Locks?
Child Locks are locks that stop young children from gaining access to an area which we don’t want them to enter. Very easy to install as others have mentioned – took minutes. You simply stick the catch (with 4 “installation tabs”) on the cabinet edge, put the latch (with foam tape exposed) on the catch, close the door, and the latch sticks to the correct place on the door. You then break the 4 “installation tabs” on the catch. Will work on doors up to about 1-1/2″ thick. With no screws to mess with and no need to worry about destroying your cabinets or other things. A good buy and easy to install. We really love how easy they are to use! They were SO simple to install and seem like they’ll be perfect for keeping our 10-month old daughter out of the kitchen cabinets.

To install them just peel off the tape on the part that goes on the cabinet and attach that part to the cabinet, temporarily attach the part that goes on the door to the part attached to the cabinet, peel off the tape from the door part, shut the cabinet door and the tape sticks to the door and voila, both pieces are attached where they need to be.
The adhesive is EXTREMELY sticky, be sure that you are placing it where you want it, cause there is no repositioning or removing it without ruining it. We were looking for something simple, easy to install without leaving permanent marks, and most importantly of couse, keeping our 1 year old away from harmful items. this system works great for us. The good news, my cabinet is over an inch thick of hard wood, and the magent works fine through it.

We had no trouble with installation but did follow the directions and let the glue cure for 24 hours and made sure to orient the latch as specified.
